General description

The SMC^® Human IL-18 High Sensitivity Immunoassay Kit contains all reagents required to perform the assay. This assay takes advantage of a standard immunoassay workflow configured in a standard plate format.

Assay protocols are similar to existing sandwich ELISA methods with two key differences:

1) Elution buffer disrupts the sandwich, separating the labeled detection antibody for quantification.

2) The Erenna and SMCxPRO^® immunoassay systems detect analytes using Single Molecule Counting (SMC^®) technology.

Specificity

Species Reactivity:

Specificity to the following species recombinant proteins were tested with the following results:

Feline – 0.5% Mouse – 4% Rat – 0.3%

Cross Reactivity:

No cross-reactivity was seen with the following cytokines: IL-1a, IL-1ß, IL-1RA, IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, IL-9, IL-10, IL-12 (p40), IL-12 (p70), IL-13, IL-15, IL-17A, IL-17E, IL-7F, IL-22, IL-27.

Accuracy:

·      Minimum of 5 serum samples spiked with average recovery of 99% with a range of 92-107%

·      Minimum of 5 plasma samples spiked with average recovery of 95% with a range of 88-103%
