As the world population continues to expand, there is increasing demand for food testing to verify the safety and authenticity of food products. Food testing ensures that food products are pathogen-free and safe for consumption. In addition, there are increasing global regulations on import and labeling of foods containing genetically modified organisms (GMO), for which testing is required to ensure compliance. Increasingly, molecular biology methods such as quantitative PCR assays and advanced DNA sequencing methods are the fastest and most reliable ways to detect pathogens and identify food components. Both analysis methods rely on the highest quality extracted DNA to achieve reproducible results.
